Our Story

How We Got Started

Two Painting Broads was created by two friends who love to paint. By gathering your friends around a canvas, from the novice painter to the expert, you and your friends will enjoy painting, laughing, eating, and relaxing together in this personal and informal setting. Here’s a bit of Our Story:

Hi, friends! I’m Corie, Broad 1. Jody and I have been friends for a few years, but have definitely connected on a different level with art and especially painting.

This past year (2015) we partnered together to offer some art classes at a local theatre/dance studio and we fell in love with this style of group painting and socializing.

We had SO much fun – like super, amazing, more than we imagined, F-U-N! It really snowballed from there. We started offering private parties and then we even started entertaining the idea of our own studio. It all happened very fast and before we knew it Two Painting Broads was born! We are still a bit breathless about it all.

To introduce you to me personally, I’m a business owner (Core Office Solutions, est. 2006) and married to Scott who is a pastor here in Philipsburg. I’m also Mom to our 4 great kids: Jenna, Caleb, Hannah, and Levi. Our life is full of ministry, mayhem, and mischief. Trust me, no truer words have ever been spoken.

I paint because it brings me joy. I paint because it is a balm for my soul. I paint because God blessed me with a little bit of creative ability. I’m so grateful to Him for this opportunity. And why shouldn’t I share all that with you? We can’t wait for you to come to the studio and experience this for yourself. We’ll save a stool for ya!

Hello, Artists! I’m Jody, or Broad 2 to my painters. I am a certified oncology nurse by day and at night I get to lighten the mood, do something I love, and paint.

I married my high school sweetheart, Tim, two decades ago. We have two witty, intelligent teenage boys, Benjamin and Brandon. Our house is full of pranks and constant laughter. I love this crazy life I’m living!

I paint because there are so many facets of emotion that come to the surface. Painting can free me, or it can bind me. I once read that painting is about tasting with your eyes, so flavorful, rich, smooth, or tart. Some flavors are good, some are bad, but all are art. I would love for you to get as lost as I do when I’m painting! It’s a wonderful journey.
